Frequently Asked Questions

We offer two shipping options at checkout: 

Media mail: is a cost-effective way to send books. Based on previous shipments, we estimate that your item will arrive between 7 to 21 days, sometimes longer. This option is a practical and inexpensive way to ship your orders, however; the primary disadvantage is that it can take longer to reach its destination and less care is taken with the package.

If you live outside of the continental U.S., please allow an additional 5-7 days for your items to be delivered.

Priority mail:  provides a fast and affordable way to deliver mail to every address in the U.S. In most instances, delivery is made within 3-7 business days. Domestic Priority shipping includes up to $50 to $100 of insurance for lost, damaged, or stolen packages. Claims to be done directly with USPS. 
 
Packaging / handling: Once your order is received, we strive to dispatch orders from our warehouse within 1 business day. Upon shipment, you will receive an email with a tracking number to monitor the progress of your package. Orders placed after 12pm PST will be shipped out the following day. Our local mail carrier picks up packages daily. The shipping delivery timeline from USPS begins once they scan the package. Scanning DOES NOT happen inside our offices. Once your package is scanned by the post office, you can easily find your order’s tracking information online by visiting https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction_input

If you receive a notification of delivery but have not received your order yet please allow 3 business days for USPS carrier to recover your order. If you do not receive your order after those 3 business days, please contact us at support@littlelibros.com

Office hours: our office hours are Monday-Friday from 9:00am-3:00pm PST

Please be sure to include an order number, name on order, or anything else that will help us answer your questions. Orders

There could be several factors that can affect your order. These can include: type of shipment option (i.e. media mail), weather conditions, cancelled flights, governmental decisions, staff reductions. 

If you do not receive a shipment confirmation by email within two weeks of your order, please send us an email at orders@LittleLibros.com with your full name, name on order, billing address, and order number. We will get back to you as soon as we can with information on your order.  

If you live outside of the continental U.S., please allow an additional 5-7 days for your items to be delivered. 

It is very rare that you get a notification of delivery without actually receiving your order. Please contact the carrier immediately and if you have not received it within 3-4 days from the date the carrier claims to have delivered your order, please email us at orders@LittleLibros.com with your name and order number. 

It is very rare that this happens. Please email us with your name and order number so we can look into this issue, or you can contact the carrier directly. 

If you want your order to be sent to another address other than the one you provided when placing your order, we can try and make that accommodation if you send us an email to info@LittleLibros.com within 6 hours of placing order. 

If your order contains any of our upcoming new releases, but it includes books that are available on our website, that entire order will be shipped on date of the new release title. If you need your already-available books before the new release date, we suggest that you place two separate orders. If you change your mind after having already placed your order together, please send us an email at info@littlelibros.com

If you placed your order on Amazon, Target, or any other retailers that carry Lil’ Libros products, please contact them directly to help you. We only ship out orders that are placed on LilLibros.com

We would love to ship out all your items together, however, our team works on your orders on a first come first served basis. This means we cannot guarantee that we will be able to ship two orders at the same time. We will do our best to accommodate. Please email us at orders@LittleLibros.com as soon as possible along with both order numbers. 

Returns

You have 30 days after having received your products to return. Please DO NOT return the product back without contacting us first and receiving the necessary return and exchange instructions. If you have a defective item and would like to return it without getting a replacement, please email us and include your order number and description of the defect.

Wrong order received: If we made a mistake/error in shipping out the wrong product, please notify us within 2 business days of receiving your order. We will then issue return instructions on how and where to return the product. 

Wrong order was placed: If you made an error and ordered the wrong products and wish to return the product, please send us an email at info@littlelibros.com with full name used when placing order, billing address, and order number. We will get back to you as soon as we can with information on your order. Please note that you will also be responsible for the shipping cost of returning the item.

Damaged shipment and/or products: If you received damaged shipment (opened box, water damage, smashed box, etc), or damaged products (artwork missing, warped book, etc), please notify us within 3 business days of receiving your order. Send us an email at info@littlelibros.com with full name used when placing order, billing address, order number, and images of the damaged products. 

At time of delivery, if the packaging appears damaged on the outside, please refuse to accept it from the carrier, and let us know immediately. 

Warehouse sale items cannot be returned or exchanged. Discounted items are FINAL SALE. Final sales items are non-returnable and non-refundable. (example: warehouse sale items, Black Friday sales, and any other discounted items.)

We can only exchange purchases that were made on LilLibros.com

Item you wish to exchange must: be in new condition and be of equal value. If the item you choose to exchange it for is of greater value, you would be responsible for paying the difference. 

Please contact our customer service email at info@LittleLibros.com and provide your order number, or the order number that was given to the person who purchased the book for you. Once you have emailed, a team member will respond with further instructions.

Discounts

Unfortunately, at this time, our operating system doesn’t support the combining of discount codes, including free shipping codes and teacher discount codes.

Yes we do! Please go to our website and click on TEACHER DISCOUNTS to register and receive your one-time-use discount code. You will be asked to provide one of the following: 

· Official ID Card or Badge

· Educator's License or State Certification

· Credential used to gain access to your campus (must have your name on it)

· Pay Stub from your employer

· Signed letter of employment

Please note that Apple Pay and Google Pay do not accept discount codes at checkout. If you would like to make a purchase on our website and use one of our discount codes, please do not use the Apple Pay or Google Pay option at checkout. We are not able to grant refunds or apply discounts if you choose either of these options.

Submissions

Submissions

Lil’ Libros publishes children's book that celebrate multicultural voices and stories. We are currently looking for projects in fiction and nonfiction books for children ages 0-8 years old, as well as activity and educational kits. 

Guidelines

  • We prefer to receive children's book submissions and illustrations through email. No compact discs, flashdrives, etc, will be reviewed. Absolutely no in person submissions. 
  • No materials submitted will be returned. Please do not send your only copy. Photocopies will do.
  • Include your complete contact information with your submission (email and phone number).
  • If you have a literary agent, please note that along with their contact information. 
  • If we are interested in your submission, you can expect to hear from us within 3 months after we receive your submission. We will not respond to an unsolicited submission unless interested in publishing it.

Where to Send Your Proposal:

We do not track receipt of submissions at this time, therefore we will not be able to give you confirmation that your materials have been received.

By submitting your manuscript and/or artwork you acknowledge that because of our position in the publishing industry we receive numerous solicited and unsolicited submissions of ideas, formats, stories, illustrations, suggestions and the like, and that many such submissions heretofore or hereafter received can be similar to or identical to those being developed by us or our employees or to those otherwise available to us. 

You acknowledge that no contractual relationship now exists between you and Lil’ Libros, and you further acknowledge that no such relationships are established between you and Lil’ Libros by reason of you submitting your material. 

Events

Thank you for thinking of Lil' Libros to be part of your event! Before we commit to any events, please send full details of your event to info@LittleLibros.com for us to review and check availability. Full details can include: dates, location, name of organization, producer, etc., Once we review your email, we will notify you if we are available to participate.

Holiday

Due to delays with many shipping carriers, we suggest you place your orders by December 15 to guarantee delivery. Please understand that any delays that occur from USPS are beyond our control. Place your order as early as possible for arrival by December 24. 

Curbside Pickup

If you select Local Pickup at checkout, please note that our warehouse pickup hours are: Monday - Friday from 9am-2pm. Park inside the lot and call us at 323.484.9758 with your order # once you've arrived. No need to get out of your car, we will bring order to you.

You have 10 days from the date you receive our "Your order is ready for pickup email" to pickup up your order. If your order is not picked up during the 10 business days, we will cancel and refund your order.

If you used a discount code when checking out, and your order is cancelled on our end because you failed to pickup, the discount code will not be applied to your next order if the code is no longer available.
