Where’s the story?

Out of all the people they’ve written about, I would think they would put Celia on a pedestal for her story that empowers her and her people. A woman who lost a country, home, family and friends to a group of “revolutionary” murdering thugs. I thought this would be a good way to educate, but unfortunately it missed the mark. It’s a glorified picture book.

Missed the mark

Gorgeous illustrations but certainly dissatisfied with the lack of a story. Many of the other books have a story accompanied with the pictures. I feel that the authors could have done more justice for Celia. Sad to not share her full story with my son through this book

As someone who grew up listening to Celia, this book is a perfect book to introduce her to my baby. Beautiful illustrations. Azúcar!

Disappointed

If you are looking for a storyline to this book you will be very disappointed. Unlike the Pelé book, this Celia book only has one word on each page; where as the Pelé book actually has a story. Considering both books are in the same series, The Life of, I think they should be treated the same. The Celia book has a short biography on the back of the book, only in english, that should have been incorporated in the book in both languages, like the Pelé book.
